COVID-19 Safety

COVID19 is spread through close contact (less than 6 feet) with others infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, including those who may be asymptomatic (are not showing or experiencing symptoms).

Close contact spread over time (greater than 15 minutes) increases the risk of transmission of the virus.

Massage sessions are performed at close contact for a long period of time, creating a medium risk exposure to SARS-CoV-2.

For these reasons, the following safety procedures have been put in place to minimize risk.

I want to go over these changes with you so you know what to do to make your session safe and relaxing!

  • I will be taking your temperature when you arrive. If it is above 100°F you will be sent home. You will need to reschedule your appointment online for two weeks or more after your symptoms end or you are cleared by a medical professional.

Remember, I am not a doctor, so I can only take the temperature and follow a policy, I can't tell you what the fever means or give any medical advice.  I highly recommend taking your temperature before you leave for your appointment to avoid any surprises when you get to the office.

  • There will be a mask and hand sanitizing station at the door. Sanitize hands upon entry and checkout. There will be hand sanitizer throughout the office for you.

  • Please bring and wear a mask on entry that is comfortable enough for you to wear the entire session, including facedown. A paper mask is easier to breathe through while on the table. This is non-negotiable. It is a condition that has to be met to re-open.

If you are unable to wear a mask for the entire time that you are in the office, we will need to postpone your appointments until such a time that it is safe for all clients and myself to operate without one.

  • Please make all future appointments online from home and utilize contactless payment when possible.

If you need help scheduling online, please let me know. You can do it from this website or from the Schedulicity app available for smartphones.

You will need a card (debit or credit) to set up and hold the appointment. You can pay another way when you come in, but putting in a card will allow you to make contactless payments. I can just add any gratuity you specify (optional) and run it through the secure server without having to touch or sign anything.

  • Please limit conversations throughout your session and checkout.

This is a precaution that comes highly recommended by massage industry leaders to reduce the number of droplets in the air spread by talking and limit exposure time in the office. It's also meant to help you move in-and-out of the office quicker so I have more time to clean (not because I don't want to hear about your day).

  • Avoid touching other areas of the office not related to your appointment and take care of bathroom needs before you arrive if possible.

This is another precaution to limit the number of things I need to clean and sanitize between clients (they will be cleaned daily). You can still use the bathroom in an emergency.

  • If you arrive early, please wait in your car until about 10 minutes prior to your appointment.

Another precaution to limit time in the office for your safety and allow me time to clean. You can come in on your own without texting or calling.

  • Complete all required paperwork at home and bring it in.

Prior to your first visit back, you will be required to complete an informed consent and health checklist. I will include a link for an online version in your confirmation email. The for is also at the bottom of this page. You can also download it from this website to complete and bring in. If you do not bring it in you will have to fill it out prior to beginning your appointment, if it takes you longer than five minutes, it will go into your session time. I highly recommend doing this before you come in.

Your health is my priority:

If you have a condition that puts you at high-risk for complications, do not feel bad about staying home. Massage will be here when it is safe for you to receive it. Yes, I will miss you, but I can wait.

Everyone's body is different and reacts to what's going on in different ways. Your physical and mental health is impacted by stress and uncertainty. If you do not feel comfortable coming in right now, even with precautions in place, I understand and respect the need to stay home. Your life is not worth a massage (even though it seems like it sometimes)!

The symptoms for COVID19 include headache, fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, shaking, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, muscle aches that are not related to another condition.

Regardless of if you have COVID19, massage is not appropriate for ANY illness. It will not make you feel better, it will more likely make you feel worse. It also means your immune system is already being challenged.

I have updated my cancelation policy to reflect that illness can come on suddenly. If you become suddenly ill, please notify me via email or voicemail at least one hour before your appointment to avoid any last-minute cancelation fees. I still prefer 24-hour notice, and the prior policy for no-shows and other cancelations is still in effect.

If I become sick or exposed to the SARS-CoV2 virus, I will have to CLOSE the entire office and self-isolate for 14 days or until cleared by a medical professional. This may mean that your appointment will be canceled on short notice, but I will try to avoid that if at all possible.

Please complete the consent form below before arriving for your appointment.
